My Favorite Music Videos RIGHT NOW!

So, I'm not ashamed to admit it...the disposable income I do have goes to music AND the occasional music video, which I then put onto my iPod for some enjoyment on the T(rain). Here are some of my favorite music videos of the moment.

• Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) - Dirty, slutty good fun. The song is a bit overplayed right now, but this is my late-discovery. This is my walking around the city jam.

• VV Brown - Shark In The Water - I've talked about this girl before, but I can't stop raving! Her album is out in the UK soon and this is her latest single. She looks stunning in the video!

• Lady Gaga - Paparazzi - One word...E-P-I-C!!

• Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester - Good Girls Go Bad - Fun little peak at what Leighton Meester's debut album is going to sound like. Plus Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship is mighty cute.

• Paradiso Girls feat. Lil Jon & Eve - Patron Tequila - Fabulous, fun summer pop. The girls look hot as ever.

• The Killers - Dustland Fairytale - Brandon Flowers = SEX

• Wale feat. Lady Gaga - Chillin' - Love Gaga in anything.

• La Roux - Bulletproof - If you haven't heard of La Roux yet, CHECK them OUT NOW. They are a new act out of the UK and they're doing a small U.S. tour this summer.
  

• Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush; Hush Hush - Call me gay (I am gay), but I love me some PCD. This song is plenty of fun and the girls look amazing.

• Freemasons feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) - Sophie has been my girl ever since I saw the video for "Murder on the Dancefloor."

• Gossip - Heavy Cross - Two words...Beth Ditto!

• Dan Black - Symphonies - Wish he was able to release his cover of Biggie's "Hypnotize," but this is a suitable replacement single.
  
  

• Paloma Faith - Stone, Cold Sober - Beautiful video, beautiful girl.

• Jordin Sparks - Battlefield - Video is a little boring, but the song is still ace in my book.

• Tinchy Stryder feat. Amelle Berrabah (of the Sugababes) - Never Leave You - Loved his song "Take Me Back," as well as his follow up single "Number 1." This one isn't as good as it's predecessors, but I do love me a featured vocal by a Sugababe.

• Frankmusik - Confusion Girl - Love this dude! Can't wait to get his album. It's going to be fantastic! I love the appearance in the video from Aussie singer/actress Holly Valance.

• David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland - When Love Takes Over - Holy dance hit! Congrats to Kelly, who, although was dropped from her label recently, collaborated with dance genius David Guetta and put out this number 1 dance hit!

• Daniel Merriweather - Red - Beautiful song. Beautiful man.
  
• Lily Allen - Fuck You (Explicit) - Hilarious video.

Melinda Doolittle - It's Your Love Remixes

Oh the stresses of life! Once again, the delay between this post and my last is unforgivably long. I started bidding on Ebay for a "rare remix promo" of American Idol Season Six finalist, Melinda Doolittle. I typically jump at the excuse to purchase a rare promo on Ebay if there's a 1-click buy option. This time around, there wasn't that option, so I bid the minimum $10.00. Sure enough, I was out bid. I went up to about $25.00 and next thing I know, it's all the way up to $80.00! Holy shit! Quite the jump. I'm sorry, but a 7-track promo for $80.00 + shipping does not seem like a good deal to me. Such is the nature of Ebay, I guess. Remixes are by Jason Nevins, Mike Rizzo and Smashmode. Damn you, big spender!

Aly & AJ posted some album info via Twitter, including song names!

"There are a lot of unanswered questions about what our single is going to be and the names of the tracks on our record. We have never been in a rush for this record. We ended up writing 50 songs for this one album. We have now narrowed it down to our favs. There's not one song on this record we don't believe in. We can't wait to play every single one live. It kills Into The Rush & Insomniatic..

The single has not been decided on because there are so many choices! This record will drop in the fall. We need ur help to rally the fans As well as people who aren't aware of our music. It's really important to buy the album the first week of sales. Here are some song titles: Say Hello, Damaged (Which we co-wrote with Nancy Wilson of Heart) Civilian, and Next Worst Thing (Co-written with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer).

Brace yourselves, more to come. It has been worth making a record over a year long span to give u the quality u deserve!

Jonas Brothers - Paranoid: I've never really been a Jonas Brothers fan to be honest. It's a bit below my demographic, however I'm willing to give anything remixed by StoneBridge a chance. Last remixes I heard from these boys were the Jason Nevins remixes of "When You Look Me In The Eyes." These sound promising.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi: I've already heard these puppies and let me tell you - Moto Blanco worked it out (in my opinion). Love, Love, Love! Stuart Price's pop mix is actually a nice alternative to the radio edit. The Yusek mix is interesting as well, though not so good for a dance club. I need to listen to the others. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that there were mixes for this track already!

The Script - Before The Worst: These sexy boys are coming back to Boston soon. They were scheduled to play at the Paradise but the show was cancelled (poor ticket sales?). Last remixes I heard from these guys was "We Cry," with remixes by Bimbo Jones, Ashanti Boyz, Afroganic. I kind of wish "The Man That Can't Be Moved" got some remixes, but beggars can't be choosers. Armand Van Helden (almost) always delivers, so this should be good.

Valeriya - Wild: Love this song! Wow. This song AND it's remixes are FIRE! Back when this Russian pop star (who many say is the Russian equivalent to Madonna) released her first UK single - "The Party's Over," it took a while for me to get into it. The remixes were alright, with jams churned out by the Manhattan Clique & Ortega & Gold, the song just wasn't anything special. "Wild" should have been the first single - HANDS DOWN! An impressive remix package includes mixes by Manhattan Clique, Oretega & Gold, Ian Carey and Bimbo Jones. I'll say it again - FIRE!

Will Young - Tell Me The Worst: Who's my favorite Pop Idol? Well, it's not Michelle McManus (although I did enjoy the Soul Survivor remix of "Just For You"). Will Young - not only do I have a crush on the guy, but his voice melts souls...in a good way. I bought his last album, I also bought a promo for his single "Grace" off of Ebay. Remixes for "Grace" came to us from Fred Falke and Tom Neville. There were also some great remixes for his first single, "Changes," by Chris Lake & Superbass. The new single features remixes by Fred Falke. Can't wait!

Chris Cornell - Long Gone: Chris Cornell remix. Never thought I'd see the day. Well, that's not true - but still a little surprise. I enjoyed the remixes to "Part of Me" by DJ AM, DJ Demarko, Quentin Harris, Steve Aoki, Kleerup and others. Not bad...nice rock edge...sort of Tommie Sunshine-esque. I was hoping for something a bit more "housey" but I guess they'll do. Can't wait for her album. It's certainly one of my anticipated summer albums of this year. Girl's got talent for miles.

Beth Ditto Called Out for Being a Bad Role Model? - Blimey!

While perusing Perez, I found a disturbing post about this douchey gossip columnist from the UK named Alex Blimes. Blimes took the time today to blog about his distaste for Beth Ditto, her fashion icon status AND her band Gossip. Calling Ditto out for being a bad example to young women b/c of her weight, essentially saying that she's AS bad an example for being fat as a super skinny girl would be a bad example for being skinny.

While Mr. Blimes is certainly entitled to his own opinions, his comments are a bit unnecessary. In reference to the band, Blimey says that they are "the one-hit wonders who provide Ditto with a night job." UGH. What a dick. Gossip's new album Music For Men, (one of my most-anticipated summer albums) is released on the 22nd in the UK and digitally Stateside the next day. Check out the just released video for new single "Heavy Cross."

Album Deals In Place For 3 Idol Finalists

Bing, Bang, Boom. Just like that - Kris Allen, Adam Lambert & Allison Iraheta sign deals with 19 Recordings. How exciting. While Kris Allen was a given, Adam was virtually a given...Iraheta's label deal was a very pleasant surprise.

Sure, part of me worries that Adam and Allison signed on too quickly, I'm really hoping that the label gives them the freedom they need to branch out and put out the kind of record they all NEED to put out.

According to Billboard, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta have both signed to 19 Recordings/Jive, while Adam Lambert signed on 19 Recordings/RCA.

About Allen's deal, Chairman & CEO of RCA/Jive Barry Weiss had this to say: "He’s a super-talented singer and all-around gifted musician who has that rare common touch which will give him the ability to connect with the broadest possible audience. We're really excited to welcome him to the Jive family." (Via Billboard)

Regarding Lambert's deal, Simon Fuller, "Idol" creator and 19 Entertainment CEO had this to say: "To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event. I am thrilled that 'American Idol' was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow." (Via Billboard)

Regarding Iraheta's deal, Barry Weiss said: "Allison was an absolute stand-out this season. Her bluesy, powerful voice, spunky attitude, and edgy star power immediately captivated us and it didn't matter where she ranked on ‘Idol,' we knew we wanted her to join our amazing crop of young talent at Jive." Interesting that Danny Gokey still remains deal-less. According to EW.com, 19 Entertainment doesn't have anything to report quite yet re: Gokey. I'd be surprised if he wasn't snapped up too. Honestly, I'm just thrilled that deals are in place for Glambert & Iraheta. I just hope they stay true to themselves and release some QUALITY JAMS.
