Leona Lewis Speaks Out Against Animal Cruelty
In addition to being an international pop star, Leona Lewis wants her fans to know that she's also an avid animal lover, supporting the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) in a new campaign. In a newly released video released on October 27th, Lewis pledges her support for the charity's Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare campaign, appearing in both a video as well as a photo shoot. Posing with her beloved family pet, Misty, Lewis is looking as beautiful and fresh-faced as ever in this series of photos by Anthony Upton.
According to Lewis, a long-time animal lover - "I wanted to get involved with the World Society for the Protection of Animals because I think they are doing great campaigns. " She continues "I've always been a huge advocate for any charities that are trying to help animals, because they are trying to change laws to protect animals."
Leona calls on her fans all over the world to do the right thing and back the Animals Matter campaign. Feel free to go onto Leona's WSPA page and pledge your support. "It's up to us to give these animals a voice, and put a stop to cruelty and neglect, right now," Lewis says.
WSPA is made up of over 1,000 animal welfare groups in 150 countries, each sharing a common goal - alleviate animal suffering worldwide. WSPA's partners in the States include the Humane Society of the United States and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). The charity is fully supporting a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare at the United Nations, which, if passed would acknowledge that animals do feel pain, that they do suffer and that they need to be treated humanely.
Lewis has always appeared shy and considerably more reserved than some of her pop contemporaries, which to me is realistic. Her love of animals is very real and very deep and I respect her all that much more for taking a stand like this.
Leona's second album Echo will be released on November 17th via J Records/Syco Music. First single, "Happy" is out now.

Yes, this is old news. We all knew that Lilith Fair would be making it's triumphant return in 2010 after a nearly 11 year hiatus but today a new website launched revealing the first batch of tour stops. While details are still emerging (expected talent, tour dates, etc.), the festival is clearly moving forward in a big way.
According to Nettwerk Music Group CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry McBride, "I can't reveal anything further now, but I can assure fans that we have some exciting announcements over the course of the following weeks...Lilith 2010 is very much upon us." The official press release promises a "much bigger summer festival than it was in the past," travelling all over North America as well as making the trek overseas. How exciting. I can't wait to see the lineup!

Foo Fighters Release Greatest Hits Album November 3rd!
Back at college in Indiana I went to my first rock concert and it was amazing. The Foo Fighters opening up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Foo Fighters were in the middle of promoting their 1999 album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, and I was all over it. "Learn To Fly" was one of my favorite songs of 1999. Since college I have morphed more into a pop music fan, gradually moving away from the "alternative rock" genre. This doesn't mean that I have lost all appreciation for quality rock music and I still count the Foo Fighters amongst my favorite bands.
November 3rd sees the release of Greatest Hits, a collection of 16 songs including two new tracks produced by Butch Vig - "Wheels," and "Word Forward" as well as a previously unreleased acoustic version of "Everlong," off of the bands 1997 album, The Colour and the Shape. Lead single, "Wheels" peaked at #2 on the Billboard Rock Songs Chart, #3 on Billboard's Alternative Songs Chart and debuted at #73 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, the band's highest charting single since 2007's "The Pretender." Internationally, the single peaked at 21, 22, and 24 in Australia, Sweden and in the UK respectively. Not too shabby boys. "Wheels" hit the radio
on September 23rd and made it's live debut at the White House as part of the Independence Day celebration.
Fun Fact: "Learn To Fly" is my favorite song to sing on Rock Band.
Tracklisting:
1. All My Life
2. Best Of You
3. Everlong
4. The Pretender
5. My Hero

Adam Lambert Album Cover Revealed!
Here is the recently released album artwork for the upcoming debut album from Idol Season 8 Runner Up, Adam Lambert. Wow. It's all very 80s/90s Pat Benatar or David Bowie and I kind of love it. It's totally photoshopped to the max but in a good way. For Your Entertainment drops on November 23rd via 19 Recordings/RCA Records and features a series of high-profile collaborations (both production & songwriting) including RedOne, Kara DioGuardi, Ryan Tedder, Sam Sparro, Max Martin, Rivers Cuomo (Weezer), Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Linda Perry, Dr. Luke, P!nk and a recently announced collaboration with international electro-pop star Lady Gaga. This has all the makings of a hit record and I for one, cannot wait! Go buy his single "Time For Miracles," from the major motion picture 2012 now on iTunes.
