Yeah, I would estimate my dropped call rate is around 20-30% (Northern Virginia) sometimes higher depending on the day. They said they built a new tower near me, but ever since I got that message, my coverage has dropped at least one to two bars everywhere I go.

Add a third option, 24" with a 16:10 ratio and a matte option. Easier on the eyes and more vertical space. The 27" was murder on my eyes and I had to sell mine.

Awesome! I can't wait for Vista! And now Zune! Who needs those silly Macs?
Uh, why is this on page 1? We already have enough iPod news, now we're going to be following an MS product that doesn't exist yet? C'mon! More grainy photos of elevators! Chop, Chop!

You'd have to be a fool to order that from Apple. Their upgrade prices on SSD's are a joke! It'd probably be cheaper to wait it out a couple of months and get an external thunderbolt one - it'll be just as fast if not faster!
The prices are way too high but upgrading yourself is a task most people don't want to attempt (removing the glass is a bit daunting). External thunderbolt would be nice but I don't think there's any enclosures for sale yet.

It's ok that Macs are overpriced big time, no problem that they come with not so up to date hardware yet people bitch that they are 'screwed' cause they will need a new... bumper case....
Hahaha. I just can't stop laughing.

It's called facts, not sure if you've ever come across this word before. I didn't particularly like what I saw, and milking the seizure was the right thing to do in order for these scumbags to go away. But it's just an observation that I and many have so why not say it?
Facts? You have no proof that she was faking a seizure- none whatsoever. If you want to talk facts, then speak about what you actually know. You have NO WAY to prove she was faking. What you're engaging in is speculation.

So how about a to-do list, hey Apple?
Oh you are so right!! This loses the to-do list in iCal, thus why I had to buy a to-do list app just to sync my to-do's on iphone/iPad. Hope this does not mean a separate to-do list in OS X. Now instead of having 3 apps always open (ical, mail, address book) - it will be 4. What a resource hog.
Even MS's new office (although with it's problems) on the windows side incorporates collaboration through chat, email, etc within apps. Time to unify iCal, mail, address book, to-do, ichat, and facetime into one nice integrated app to provide easier workflow and collaboration. Or maybe keep facetime / ichat separate for the new unified app - but allow for clicking and auto-launching to communicate with someone right from your unified (ical, address book, mail, to-do app).
I think that would be a boon for apple and even easier to get into businesses.
C'Mon Apple - look to how the user operates. Everything needs to be right in front of us to same time and improve workflows...

It looks like the menu text default has dropped from 14pt Lucida Grande in Tiger to 13pt Lucida Grande in Leopard -- a welcome change.
Nice indeed. Is there a way to custumize the menu bar font in Tiger? The font is way to big in my opinion and you can never have enough info icons up there. I hate it when some are hidden cuz the main menu is so wide...

Bolding mine... As a point of contention. Especially since iDevices don't even saturate the USB bus. I doubt Apple will spend more money to use faster Flash storage. Especially when (as of right now) Windows PCs don't have ThunderBolt.
Theoretically, but those of us that remember the iPod FW days know reality from benchmarks.
TB will only start to get popular when its released on Windows.
True, which is why Apple has a 1 year head start. Manufacturers will be jumping to get onto the Apple early adopter bandwagon b/c the profit margins will be fat. It will then spill over to the PC world.
When is that going to happen? I am not against Thunderbolt; not at all. I would love to have that kind of features in my iMac and a new Macbook Air if possible.
But when are we going to see those devices which take full advantage of Thunderbolt/LightPeak ports.
For eg,
- would it be possible to backup and sync full 64GB full iPad in 20s?
At the moment, NO.
- would it be possible to backup a whole TB of harddrive on an iMac in < 15 min?
At the moment, NO.
The question is:
For a consumer/pro-sumer, is Thunderbolt redundant for now? Will it take another generation of macbook pro's to generate pro-consumer Tunderbolt supported products?
Thanks for answering.
TB isn't redundant right now, it's dormant. The TB port on the MBPs right now is effectively useless until there are peripherals to connect to it. But as this thread demonstrates they are coming. First to the pro market but it will drip down during the course of the year. I think Mac OS X 10.7 and iOS5 are going to provide more urgency for TB in consumer markets as well. WWDC will be the big kick off.

I think amazon should use a better compression format, but at nearly half the price the same song on iTunes, apple has a tough sell.

I'm not a picky person, but it's the fact that it never did this before that's really the problem. Apple is usually one of the few companies that really pay attention to details...things like the rubber banding when scrolling, the subtle volume fade-out when music is interrupted by a phone call/notification, etc are part of what set the iPhone apart.
Apps aren't launching more quickly, they are launching more slowly, btw. Even after a total restore it takes very little time for things to start lagging again. This only started after 4.2/4.3.
Okay, I just reproduced this problem. After which I rolled my eyes and said "What's the big deal?"
I mean really, this is BEYOND picky. No wonder us Apple users have a reputation for being douchebags.
I hadn't even NOTICED this until now, and now that I have, I'm not really sure why I'm supposed to care. Honestly, if it's a choice between fixing this and putting more development resources into iOS 5, I much prefer the latter.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I'd rather my app launch faster than for time to be wasted playing a silly animation. Based on how fast the app comes up, that may be what's going on here.

Up to the point, RacerX...I am tired of these "security warnings" that carry little more than vaporware and a thirst for publicity and hacker-like "fame"...
If a kernel panic is a "serious issue", think again...and go Vista...and please, no market share arguments anymore...we have probably more than 50 million Apple users out there...I am sure a few hackers are still trying hard to make a virus in the wild for them.

Bin Laden was the figurehead of the organization. Him dead is still a blow to Al-Qaeda. Was he in charge anymore probably not but it is still a big deal that he is dead.
To US its a big deal. It's a blow to the Al-Qaeda that doesn't exist anymore. The current one will still function just as it has for nearly a decade in its cell based way. If anything this will just piss off extremists. Don't think for a second some type of retaliation (most likely attacks in the Middle East) won't come about from this.
