The Return of 2 Euro Dance Divas: New Music from In-Grid & Sonique
I would have never thought that an accordion could sound sexy, but Italian-born/French-singing dance artist Ingrid Emiliana Alberini makes it work every time. There's just something SO appealing about the cheesy euro-pop sounds that In-Grid brings to each and every song. Whether it's a dance-rework of a French classic ("Milord") or a more contemporary dance masterpiece ("Tu Es Foutu"/"You Promised Me"), In-Grid makes me want to DANCE.
I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I received one of my regular emails from Perfect Beat and happened to see a new release from In-Grid. I don't have too much information on the new release, other than that it's called "Le Dragueur," which essentially means "the flirt," right? It's got it all: sexy dance beat, accordion and of course smokey vocals brought to us by In-Grid. Two new singles "Le Dragueur" & "Les Fous"/"Stick to You" as well as a new album, titled Passion are both due out this month. (Anyone have release details?) Buy the new single on Perfect Beat now, complete with remixes by Fedo Mora, Diskomachine & Marcoj.
I first heard the beautiful and powerful voice of Sonique back in 2000 when the rest of the world heard her hit single, "It Feels So Good." That song is a modern dance classic and one that still gets me moving today. Also, via Perfect Beat I learned about Sonique's new single, "World Of Change." The German-pressing of the single features remixes by Lissat & Voltraxx, Paul Morrell, Costi.ro.
Originally due for release back in July, promotion for the single had to be put on hold while Sonique, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June, fought her disease. Sonique is currently undergoing chemotherapy and fight, fight, fighting along. I wish her all the best and can't wait to hear more new music from her. Make sure you buy the single now on Perfect Beat.
