When you apply for H1 transfer..they transfer the current H1.
If you have more than 6 months on ur H1 you cannot apply for extension..
when you file for transfer.
So better option would be:
a.) Transfer H1...and then file for extension.
b.) Or file for extension and then change jobs...
if you havent filed for 485.. then you have to restart the GC..and recapture your PD.... i used the option B.

Even I have moved a bit in the past and hence provided one address of a family member for all GC related communication.
A lot of times people have multiple properties that they rent out in one state and they themselves work and live in a seperate state. So you would be fine, else you would have to update your address every 4 months and will have to make sure by calling etc that the address was updated in time.

Previously India used to have 150,000 * 7 / 100 = 10500 visas every year. Now India will get 90,000 * 10 /100 = 9000 visas every year. Loss of visas to india because this new law will be 10500 - 9,000 = 1500.
It will increase the waiting for PDs to be currenct by 1500 * 100 / 105,00 = 100 / 7 % = 14.3%.
If remaining waiting of remianing qualified aplicant is 1 year then we will suffer 3 more months with our currect emploer and if it 2 years then we will suffer 6 more months with our currect employer only because of this new bill.

If I don't receive a response from USCIS before Jan 15, can I work till I get the notice ? or my employer is required to terminate my employment on Jan 15 according to the recapture time as mentioned on application ?
Your employer should terminate you from the job on Jan 15, as you will not be authorized to work after that.
I would like to apply for B2 transfer so I can stay for 2 months and travel around US. I reported quite earlier and repeatedly the changes in the PERM application process, most noticeably since August 2007. The change was in part triggered by the political pressures relating the various release of fraud investigation reports involving foreign labor certifications. Accordingly, the DOL adopted "integrity" as the focus and goal for the PERM program beginning from FY 2008. As part of the move, it has been reengineering the PERM and termporary labor certification programs including revision of the filing forms (ETA 9089 and ETA 9035). The rule making process for such changes has lately been completed and as a preparatory step to launch the reengineered foreign labor certification program, they have just announced that they are scheduling briefing sessions in the first part of February 2009 for the public and stakeholders to introduce the new program. Initial information indicated that the new program was going to be launched in the late Spring, but this briefing schedules more or less imply that the change in PERM application may come somewhat sonner than the "late" Spring. The reengineered ETA 9089 incorporates many features that are intended and targeted to achieve integrity of the labor certification process. For the reasons, the DOL performance report lowered the target processing time from less than two months in earlier days to six months. Surprisingly, though, even before they launched the new PERM program, the processing times have already reached six months or longer, partly owing to the lawsuit settlement and case loads with earlier priority dates under the settlement turned into the regular non-audit processing queue. Reportedly, this and other factors have caused recent priority date cases caught and frozen in the processing queue. Until recently, no approval of cases with priority dates later than May 2008 has been reported. However, people start seeing reports during the last few days that June 2008 cases have been adjudicated and certified, implying that the impact of the aftermath of the lawsuit settlement started diminishing. However, the immigrant community may not see any dramatic changes in the processing times in the future because of the upcoming launch of the reengineered PERM program.
Another environment, other than program focus on "integrity," that will cause continuous and difficult labor certification process is the economic recess producing massive unemployment. Since availability of certification of PERM applications should be footed on "unavailability" of qualified and "available" U.S. workers, it appears that the Office of Foreign Labor Certification is launching mechanisms to achieve "integrity" of labor certification under the ever increasing unemployment rate since rising unemployment implies that more and more qualified U.S. workers may be available in the labor markets in various areas and regions. One mechanism which they have already announced is to conduct research of unemployment rate in the job site locations and its surrounding areas by reaching commercial and noncommercial websites before they adjudicate the applications. Related to this mechanism, it appears that the adjudicators may mobilize "supervised recruitment" mechanism to require the employer's rerecruitment activities under the supervision of the OFLC when they consider or suspect the employers' claims of unavailability of U.S. workers are considered dubious considering various circumstances, including the changing labor market conditionss and high unemployment situation in the areas. Potential use of the second mechanism may be implied from the FAQs on Supervised Recruitment which the office has just released on its website. The announcement states that clean supervised recruitment cases may be completed in about six months, but it is obvious that most of these cases may take much and much longer than six months. Another fall-out of potential focus on supervised recruitment mechanism is the accompanying policy of pogtential increased debarment of employers and lawyers who are suspected to file PERM applications with misrepresentations. There is nothing wrong with Lobbying. It is completely legal to seek professional advocacy for a public cause in order to shape public policy.
It is regulated and legal. Money given to lobbyist are a matter of public record. Hundreds of corporations do this all the time and some of them have their own people do it and some of them hire outside firms who specialize in such activities.
Lobbying has become a dirty word in the past 4 years and more so because of Abramoff scandal. But it is not going to end and it will continue happening since ITS LEGAL AND REGULATED AND MONITORED.

Think about lobbying as hiring a lawyer. You can pay a lawyer as much as you want. Its legal. You cannot pay the judge. That is bribery and that is illegal. Similary we are paying orgs to be our advocates or communicator to lawmakers. No-one here is paying any lawmakers. Not a penny.
Regarding the reactions BECAUSE we hire professional advocates(using advocacy instead of lobbying since its dirty now due to scandals...its the same thing) ....here is the deal. There are 2 choices:
Choice 1.
You can be afraid of raising your voice and afraid of anything and everything including the "RADAR" of god-knows-which branch of government(even though its legal), you can be afraid of your own employer(even though its not against company policy in 99% companies to contribute money to orgs that advocate, I have asked my company and they said its ok as long as its not my own profession to lobby and as long as I am not profiting from it personally...which I am not...its contrary...I and other voluteers have contributed personally), you can be afraid of anti-immigration forces that are not going to do anything but...you can be afraid of them. You can live in a country as free as US and be afraid of things that dont even exist.
Choice 2.
You can use your backbone and stand up to raise your voice for something you want and something you believe in. Every once in a while you HAVE TO STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU WANT AND SPEAK UP. Justice is not automatic.
For the sake of argument, let us say that you are on some-one's radar. Who do you thing that is? What are they going to do? If its government branch or agency, they wont do anything because nothing here is illegal. If its a private anti-immigration org then they will know that there are forces just like them in the opposite direction on this issue for immigration. So WHAT? WE know about them and they know about us. They do their job. We do our job. At the end of the day if we make an effect of even 5% on this issue, it could be decisive. And by the way, there are many other orgs that publicly advocate immigration(including illegal immigration) and they have their websites and phone numbers and addresses. They are not afraid of "RADARS" and "ANTI-IMMIGRATION FORCES". WHY SHOULD WE BE AFRAID OF ANYONE.
Lastly, if you cannot give up your fears and speak up or stand up...atleast dont scare others. I would really appreciate.

It does not matter how you exited. You will need AP to re-enter and you will lose H1 status. I hope AP was approved before you left the US.

The caption should be catchy and should convey the info....some thing like "by the people and for the people".

Hello,
I am a new commer with no photography experience. I bought the D70 body with the sigma 28-80mm/3.5-5.6 and the 70-300mm/4-5.6 lens. when taking pics with the 28-80mm lens the pics seem to be alittle blurry and dark, and with the 70-300mm comes out alot clearer and slightly brighter. I am mostly taking pics of people in action, in the house (pics of kids while playing) where the lighting is alittle dim, but not dark. I am wondering if I need to get a new lenes with a better fstop or what to help my pics out??? I must include that I am not trying to use the flash because of the harsh lighting effect that it has. can anyone recommend what I should do to clear up my pics?

If we turn up in lower numbers - media will ignore. Rallies happen everyday in DC - and media wont bother unless numbers are huge or there is a fight or something.

I have the denial letter. If you PM your email, I can send to you.
USCIS mentioned about EDGE database and denied. (they are using EDGE for comparison)
You cannot get a rule from internet, but you can see their denial decision letter from the affected people and read their new found vision.

ALSO READ MURTHY'S CONCERN OF USCIS USING EDGE DATABASE.
THEY give (Indian) MSC only equal to US bachelors.

You have not still answered my question for official source or link for your claim. I don't care how third party evaluator evaluates. I have seen so many varying evaluations done.
Also, your calculation 3+1+2=6 is incorrect. Since this is BSc+BEd+MSc. For MSc, BEd is not needed and therefore you can't add time spent for BEd. Just like two BSc degrees do not make it equivalent to MSc.
If this one year program is not BEd, but "post graduate" diploma, still it is not going to work, since that "diploma" is not required for MSc.
