iPod scrollwheel and interface, end of story. There are music playing phones out there, but their interfaces are all clunky compared to the iPod. I think the idea with the iPhone will be that when you are not using the phone features, you can use it just like the iPod. Which probably means that it will be a slider phone (like the LG Chocolate except with a real scrollwheel instead of a face one), but we'll see.
this conversation to me sounded more like we were talking about the iPhone2 or whatever needing NEW FEATURES to make it stand out from the crowd even more. i agree that the iPod interface would make the phone experience more familiar to a lot of people and the mp3 player portion much much better then all the mp3 phones out all ready, but its not something new that the other mp3 phones don't already do.

It's a shame, really, because they are removing the very qualities that would make me shop for a VW. I would prefer a Golf though. As I said above, I wonder if Golf will maintain its more European character, or if it too will be dumbed-down and upsized.
They make not tinker with it too much, though they did try to take it a bit down market in its last revision. They may just stick to the four door sedans, since they tend to be the biggest sellers. The ironic part is that people laughed when VW tried to move upscale in the 90s, more into the luxury market. Now people are giving them flak for trying to make their stuff more affordable.

The iPod touch probably has iOS 4.1, which can be jailbroken using limera1n. If you'd like to update to iOS 4.2, you can, but your jailbreak will be tethered.

It's impossible to be 100% certain is a crap response, because in many cases it is 100% certain, and i've named a few already.
That is false. Even lawyers agree that 100% certainty is impossible. That is why we have the term "reasonable doubt". The 5 men wrongly sentenced to death in Ohio went through what was supposed to be an exceptionally thorough legal process, yet it still failed them.
Also, the whole financial issue is very debatable and i don't think anyone here has solid figures on it.
An unconvincing statement. Prove it.
The only reason it may cost more to execute someone is because of all the appeals and court costs, this can easily be fixed so execution is the most economical way.
Stalin, Gaddafi and Kim Jong Il would agree. You're in good company there.
I'm not going any further into this because my stance that some people are unworthy of life won't change. Peace out girl scout.

I want a device the size of an ipod that I can check my mail on, chat, and do some web-surfing for info, all without the ridiculous GUI deformities of windows mobile and treo, etc. and simple, easy to use hardware to back it up. I want to take it out of my pocket, see what I want, then put it away. Seamless integration with my macs as well.
Maybe I'm in a nitch, but I don't see how this could lose. Make it simple, powerful, and seamless and people will ditch the baffling ordeal of their ipaq-esque phones in a heatbeat.
I'm in the same boat. There are enough of us to sell a ton of those phones. Bring it on !

What exact external HDD do you connect via what interface (USB & Firewire) to what exact Mac with what exact Mac OS X version?
And what do you mean with "it won't repair" via Disk Utility? Can you provide more info for that?

That particular enclosure uses one eSATA port for each drive in the enclosure. You certainly could put only your 2TB drive into it and use that drive by itself, but you would not be able to daisy chain to another enclosure.

The real measurement of how well the CDMA phone will do is when apple releases the iPhone 5. That way people can measure the performance when both carriers are starting off at the same time.
If the iPhone 5 Rumors are true, the iPhone 5 will still have CDMA access for the Verizon version and all of its crippled features: slow network, no data/voice multitasking, limited conference call abilities.

What, did Apple think that Verizon customers would warmly welcome someone who shunned them for 4 years? The customer is most important, shouldn'thave signed that exclusive contract with AT&T... relly stunted their growth in the CDMA market, people move on too...
