Sen Sessions is not only person who is opposing Cir/skil.There are many people in the Senate are opposing. Everyone knows that congress is evenly divided on immigration. But 10 Senators can make a big difference if some compromise bill is introduced. So anything can happen in next 2 months in immigration. Sometimes short time is advantage as they may pass bill in a hurry and lot of provisions may be passed without big visiblity.
No one can predict at this point of time. The optimism
is thinning every day. So far nobody could come up
with anything that is agreeable.
Our best friend Sen. Sessions is trying his best
to distroy any bill. Now he is trying to propose and
implement a point based system. Who know when
the point base system is ready for discussion he
will propose a DNA based system....

Most of us who filed during jul/aug 2007 got our FPs done later that year.
Aren't those FPs valid for only 15 months or so?
So have folks started receiving their second FP notice yet?

I was wondering the same thing. On other hand, I don't remember exactly where, read that as USCIS has updated their software, hence, FP's will not be required again. I may be wrong here, I myself, am interested to know if I need to follow up with USCIS after my jul-07 filing.

I am using a labor substitution (dated 2005) that requires BS + 3 years. I had only 2 years experience by 2005. But I have an MS degree in related field. Would this be ok? Would MS+2 years suffice for a labor for BS + 3 years?

Your current employer experience has to be prior to your labor filing date (PD). You can not use the experience you got after the filing date.
You can use your experience with current employer if the future job is substantially different than your current job.

Please consult a lawyer - She is now AOS and should not go back to H4 as that can mean she is abandoning her AOS which I am sure you dont want. I would not even recommend getting H4 stamped in her passport. ( same reason). I am in the same boat and my wife is using EAD - My lawyer did not process her H4 extension and only processed my H1 extension.
Again - please consult a lawyer

There is no law/rule that even remotely suggests that getting an H visa means abandoning the AOS. My 485 was denied and had to get H1/H4 for me/my wife. Now we again have AOS, but i still have H1 and plan to enter on H1 if have to re-enter US after a trip abroad. There are hundreds of folks on this forum who extend/stamped their H1/H4 even when they had AOS.

That's right. I have done just that. Since you are filing a fresh PERM and I-140, it can be a different employer, entirely different job, title, salary. etc. You are only porting the date from the other I-140, nothing else.
Does this mean I can port the PD even if I moving from a technical position to a managerial position in a different company. of course I know one has to file a new perm and I140 with the new company.

I know about the "same or similar" clause in AC21. How many of you have got a RFE/Problems based on just this clause alone ?
Also, If you filed labor 3 years ago for software programmer, in 3 years, you could have become a system analyst, DBA or system Architect etc etc, So, how does "same or similar" matter here ?

I choosed the option "receipts not received", reached level 1 support, got transferred to level 2 - CSR checked the status of SR and told me that it takes 45 days to resolve these kind of issue and me/my (both) attorney on record will get the duplicate notice; and asked me to check after a week.

Please share if you have any progress on your SR or receiving the receipts. I am trying to call USCIS to check the status on the SR, but could not reach them. Now they have a dummy menu system, which keeps on looping when you select the option for receipts not received.

Maybe you can give me my answer. I imported a file from Swift 3D, published, F12 to view, and then went control enter to view the size. After almost choking when I saw the size it added to my SWF (255K for a 7 letter word, spinning) I decided immediatley that was intolerable to my movie size requirements, and deleted the entire Swift 3D animation from my Movie. Took it out of the frames, the library, every place imaginable. And I was floored to find what it did to my Fla. It ruined it. My Fla went from 605K to 8.9 MEG. For all the various purposes of how I use an Fla, it is ruined. The ghost of that Swift 3D stays with my Fla even today. Like a cancer, cannot get rid of it. Can you tell me how to get it out so I can restore my Fla?

I didn't quiet get from your message whether the "08xxxxxxx" has an "A" preceding it. In all probabilty it should.
If it indeed has an "A". It is a A# so you might as well forget about deducing on a visa # being assigned based on the A# on the FP :)

Immigration in United States is a soveriegn issue of this country and foriegn governments cannot do anything about it. In fact, it would be offensive for Indian Govt to advice US congress to do something regarding immigration.
Kamalnath, India's commerce minister tried to meddle in British Parliament when they changed visa rules for Indian Doctors. The British Parliament warned him and asked him to BACK OFF.
Immigration is not a trade issue. There is not deal between 2 nations on immigration. We are not talking about crude oil or soybeans trading.
Please end this discussion here. It looks really naive of us to even think like this.

Actually the reply I got was from the attorney(who is HR head I believe) of the non-profit organization itself. What I was told that some companies do accept volunteers but due to ignorance of law on their part.
Volunteering itself means one is not paid for. But H4s cannot volunteer in their own field of expertise. This is what I understood.
Anyway I am planning to file my H1 this year.
